Golf Sim Plans

Best Home Golf Simulator Build for $10,000-15,000

Short answer: These builds run from $10,298.99 with no PC to about $15,200 with a PC and Foresight's GC3.  The cheapest is the Garmin R50 SwingBay package at $10,298.99, and it needs no PC because the R50 runs courses on its own built-in screen.  Next is the Foresight SIM IN A BOX Custom with a GC3 at $11,999, plus about $3,200 for a PC that meets Foresight's specs.  For most golfers in this range, we'd pick the Uneekor EYE XR SwingBay package plus a Uneekor-sold PC, $14,698 before software.  The EYE XR mounts on the ceiling behind you, so there's nothing on the floor, and righties and lefties can swap without moving it.

What the step up from $5,000-10,000 gets you: Based on manufacturer specs, the main differences are where the launch monitor sits and whether you need a PC.  The overhead EYE XR lets a righty and a lefty trade turns by changing the player profile, and its package adds two Swing Optix cameras for swing video.  The R50 plays full rounds with no computer to start up.  In our $5,000-10,000 builds, every launch monitor sits on the floor.

All prices below were checked on manufacturer or retailer pages on October 22, 2026.  Prices change often, especially during sales, so click through before you buy.  Every room spec is based on manufacturer specs.  We haven't tested these builds hands-on.

Before you pick a build, check your room.  Our ceiling height guide and launch monitor space guide cover swing clearance, depth and ball-to-screen distance for each unit.  If your sim is going in the garage, read our garage guide first.

Build 1: Uneekor EYE XR SwingBay plus PC ($14,698)

Part Product Price (Oct 22, 2026)
Launch monitor, enclosure, screen, mat, projector, mount Rain or Shine Uneekor EYE XR SwingBay, 8' x 10.5' enclosure, triple-layer screen, 5' x 5' SwingTurf mat $9,999.00 (listed regular $12,325.00)
PC Uneekor SurfThing Premium Level Desktop (Intel Core Ultra 7 265F, RTX 5080 16GB, 32GB DDR5, 2TB SSD, Windows 11 Home) $4,699.00
Total $14,698.00

Rain or Shine says the package includes the EYE XR, 2 Swing Optix cameras, the SwingBay enclosure (8'H x 4'2"D x 10'5"W in the 8x10 size), the impact screen, an Optoma ZW350ST laser short-throw projector, a ceiling mount with an 18" extension, a 25' HDMI cable, and the EYE XR's PoE injector, CAT6 cables and bracket.  The 9' x 12' version with the triple-layer screen and 4' x 9' mat is $11,299, which would put this build at $15,998.

How you'd use it: Walk in, tee up and play a round, then hand the club to someone else in the house.  If they swing from the other side, Uneekor says you switch by changing the player profile, without moving the overhead unit.

Who this fits: Households with more than one golfer, especially a righty and a lefty, who have a 10 ft ceiling.

Why this PC: Uneekor's EYE XR page lists Windows 11, an Intel Core i7 (12th Gen or later) or Ryzen 7 5000 or later, 32 GB of RAM, an RTX 4070 Ti or equivalent, 16 GB of graphics memory (needed for VIEW with AI Trainer), and 2 dedicated Ethernet ports.  Uneekor's connection guide says the cable must go straight into the PC's Ethernet port, with no adapters, switches or hubs.  The SurfThing Premium has a Core Ultra 7 (which Uneekor's system requirements page lists) and an RTX 5080 with 16GB.  Uneekor's page shows one 2.5G LAN port.  SurfThing's own listing adds that a second 1G Ethernet card is installed in the standard build, which gives the two ports.  Uneekor's cheaper SurfThing Enhanced ($3,799) uses a Core Ultra 5, which isn't on Uneekor's requirements list, so we didn't pick it.

Room size, based on manufacturer specs: Uneekor's EYE XR page recommends at least 13 ft wide x 16 ft deep x 10 ft high.  Rain or Shine says the EYE XR mounts on the ceiling between 9 and 10 ft, and lists the 8x10.5 SwingBay footprint as 11'W x 15'D x 8.1'H.  The EYE XR's hitting zone is 14" L x 12" W, per Uneekor.  Go by Uneekor's room size, since it's the bigger number.

Projector throw: Optoma lists the ZW350ST at a 0.521 throw ratio and 3,600 lumens.  That means about 5.2 ft of throw for every 10 ft of image width.  Rain or Shine's package text calls the projector 4,000 lumens.  We went with Optoma's figure.

Yearly software: Rain or Shine and Uneekor both list 3 months of the Ultimate membership as included.  After that, Uneekor's membership page lists Player at $0, Pro at $199/yr, Champion at $399/yr and Ultimate at $599/yr, billed yearly per unit.  Third-party software like GSPro needs Pro or higher plus a $250/yr GSPro license.

Build 2: Garmin R50 SwingBay, no PC ($10,298.99)

Part Product Price (Oct 22, 2026)
Launch monitor, enclosure, screen, mat, projector, mount Rain or Shine Garmin Approach R50 SwingBay, 9' x 12' enclosure, triple-layer screen, 4' x 9' SwingTurf mat $10,298.99 (listed regular $11,825.00)
PC Not needed $0
Total $10,298.99

The package uses the same SwingBay enclosure, ZW350ST projector, ceiling mount and HDMI cable as Build 1.  The 8' x 10.5' version starts at $8,498.99, which is below this guide's range and covered by our $5,000-10,000 guide.

How you'd use it: Turn on the R50, pick a course on its built-in screen and play.  There's no PC to boot and no phone to pair.

Who this fits: Golfers who want a full bay without a computer, or who share the sim with family members who won't touch a PC.

No PC needed: Rain or Shine says the R50 runs Home Tee Hero on its built-in 10" touchscreen with no PC, phone or tablet.  For GSPro and other PC software, you'd still need a PC.

Room size, based on manufacturer specs: Garmin's owner's manual puts the R50 about 1.5 ft to the side of the tee, facing it, at roughly tee height.  The manual says to make sure you have enough ceiling height for your swing, but it doesn't give a number.  Rain or Shine says the R50 "has no minimum ball flight requirement."  It lists the 8x10.5 SwingBay at 11'W x 15'D x 8.1'H, and says only that the 9x12 "requires more depth."  It doesn't publish the 9x12 footprint, so ask before you order, or drop to the 8x10.5 triple-layer, 4x9 mat version at $9,298.99.

Lefty / righty: Garmin's manual lists a Handedness setting in each profile.  The manual doesn't say whether the unit moves to the other side of the ball for lefties.

Projector throw: Same ZW350ST as Build 1, with a 0.521 throw ratio per Optoma.

Yearly software: Garmin Golf is $99.99/yr or $9.99/mo for course play.

Build 3: Foresight SIM IN A BOX Custom with GC3 plus PC ($15,198.99)

Part Product Price (Oct 22, 2026)
Launch monitor, enclosure, screen, mat, turf, projector, cart Foresight SIM IN A BOX Custom, GC3, 11-13 ft frame, no frame extension $11,999.00 (regular $15,999.00)
PC Shop Indoor Golf 4K RTX5080 Premium Golf Simulator Desktop (Intel Core Ultra 7 270K, RTX 5080, 32GB DDR5, 1TB NVMe) $3,199.99
Total $15,198.99

This build lands $198.99 over the top of the range with a new PC.  If you already own a PC that meets Foresight's specs, it's $11,999.  Foresight says the package includes the launch monitor with club data, the enclosure with hitting screen, a hitting mat and turf, a computer cart and a projector.  The optional frame extension adds $3,000.  It deepens the enclosure from 5 ft to 8 ft and raises it to 9'8"-10', and Foresight recommends it for the overhead Falcon.

How you'd use it: Play a round on Foresight's simulator software, then use the GC3's club data to see why the last drive went right.

Who this fits: Golfers who want Foresight's camera data and club numbers and are fine with a PC beside the bay.

Why this PC: Foresight's product page recommends Windows 11, an Intel Core Ultra 7, an RTX 5070 Ti with 16GB, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB+ SSD for 1080p.  The Shop Indoor Golf desktop has a Core Ultra 7 270K, an RTX 5080, 32GB and 1TB.  Its listing doesn't name the operating system or the RTX 5080's memory, so confirm both before you buy.  The $2,599.99 ABS desktop we used in our $5,000-10,000 guide showed as sold out on Newegg today.

Room size, based on manufacturer specs: Foresight lists the standard frame at 11-13 ft wide, 5 ft enclosure depth, 16 ft full depth including the projector, and 8'7"-8'10" tall.  Foresight's buyer's guide recommends at least a 10 ft ceiling in general, with 9 ft workable for certain setups.  We couldn't find a GC3-specific room spec on Foresight's pages.

Lefty / righty: The GC3 sits on the floor beside the ball.  Foresight has a help article on switching between left- and right-handed hitting on the GC3, so check it for the setup steps before you plan your room.

Projector throw: Foresight doesn't name the projector model or its throw ratio on the product page.  Ask Foresight before you plan your mount.

Yearly software: Foresight says every new device comes with a 30-day Foresight+ and Course Pass trial, and the Foresight+ pricing page lists Free at $0, Silver at $199/yr and Gold at $599/yr.  Course Pass is $295/yr and Course Pass Pro is $595/yr, and both need Silver or Gold.  GSPro and other third-party software need Gold.  Foresight says the trial converts to paid automatically unless you cancel before day 30.  Retailer Play & Sync says the package includes FSX software with 35 courses and no annual fees, but Foresight's own US page doesn't list FSX, so check with Foresight which software ships with it.
